The Second Prostration

After making the supplication in the sitting between the two prostrations, you need to complete the second prostration, in the same way as the first, and beginning with takbeer: saying 'Allaahu Akbar'.

Once you have finished the prostration, you should raise your head while saying the takbeer and sit for a short while.

Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated:

“...The Prophet (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to say Allaahu Akbar on prostrating, and on raising his head from prostration...and he would then do the same in the whole of the prayer till it was completed...” [al-Bukhāri: 789]
